Attention All Users!

There is currently a small bug in the forum software that causes an odd display if you try to preview a post. Essentially it conflicts with other software that this (and many other) sites use. The software developers are working on a fix and I will implement this as soon as it is available.

I am please to report that the post preview issue has now been partially resolved - there may still be issues with older browsers. For the best experience in using this website, please ensure that you are using the latest version of your favourite browser.

If preview is working correctly in your browser you will see the text in the editing box replaced with the final, formatted version when you click the preview button.

Clicking the preview button a second time returns you to editing mode. Try it!

UPDATE:

The new version of the software, whist partially remedying the Preview issue, seems to have introduced a new 'feature'.

After replying to a post you may receive a 500 or 404 (page not found) error. Ignore this and just click the back button on your browser - your reply will have in fact been made! We are investigating ....

An update to the forum software has just been uploaded and testing will commence to ascertain whether the remaining bugs have been fixed.

[Update: Hmm looks like the preview issues have returned! - best not to use that feature for the moment]

A further update to the forum software has been applied. This seems to have resolved the preview and page not found issues, except in IE7, where the preview slightly overlays the original in the editing window. I recommend using Firefox, Chrome or Opera as a browser anyway ;-)

Hi again, folks. Guess what ....... the preview is now fully working in IE as well as other browsers :-)

Instead of a separate [bPreview[/b] button, the feature is now accessible from the magnifying glass on the extreme right of the toolbar in the message compostion area.
